The large scale of the room felt overwhelming, making it difficult for the community to envision how it could be used. They wanted a welcoming space with ample seating that could also remain open and adaptable for hosting events, while addressing the lack of storage.
Energy Alchemist Approach:
A custom cuddle area with integrated storage was created to maximize both comfort and functionality. The seating arrangement was designed to remain unobtrusive, allowing the platform to double as a stage for gatherings and performances. A centrally placed rug helped define and unify the space without restricting its flexibility. Additional seating areas were thoughtfully distributed throughout the room, and a statement mirror was introduced to complete the overall design.

Living RoomClient Challenge:
The community wanted a welcoming shared space where members could gather to watch television during the day. They envisioned an environment that felt captivating, warm, and cozy while embracing a refined Japanese aesthetic. Although the room was grand in scale, it lacked a sense of beauty and intention.
Energy Alchemist Approach:
The design process involved extensive consultation with community members to ensure the space reflected their collective needs. The room was thoughtfully decluttered and reorganized to improve flow and functionality. A projector and sound system were installed to create a shared entertainment experience, while a beautiful room divider provided the flexibility to block natural light when needed. Carefully sourced pieces were selected to honor and reflect the desired cultural aesthetic.
